VANCOUVER – Post Secondary Employers’ Association CEO Anita Bleick issued the following statement: “Following intensive bargaining between the Post Secondary Employers’ Association (PSEA) and the Federation of Post Secondary Educators (FPSE), a tentative agreement on the compensation elements of the 2012‐2014 round of bargaining has been reached under the 2012 Cooperative Gains Mandate. “We are very pleased to report that the 10 participating FPSE Locals and their respective employers have reached this tentative agreement and understand that non‐participating FPSE Locals, also in attendance in this forum, will seek to conclude agreements with their employers on the same compensation terms.

“This is more good news for the sector, in particular our students whose interests are always the top priority of both sides of the negotiating table. Many people devoted exceptional time and energy to reach this tentative settlement, which is one more step towards the conclusion of bargaining in this sector under the 2012 mandate.

“Unions will now be approaching their employers for dates to conclude the local portion of their agreements. Ratification will occur once local bargaining has been concluded.”

The PSEA has been the employer bargaining agent for all public colleges, special‐purpose teaching universities and institutes in B.C. since Feb. 4, 2004.
