The Post‐Secondary Employers’ Association (PSEA) was established by the provincial government to support in setting bargaining mandates consistent with its fiscal goals while providing employers with autonomy. The Public Sector Employers’ Council (PSEC) and Secretariat develop and implement these human resource and labour relations policies and practices across the public sector. PSEA is the employer bargaining agent for all public colleges, special‐purpose teaching universities, and institutes in British Columbia.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Strategic Negotiations, The Director, Benefits Coordination is primarily responsible for the strategic coordination, administration and management of a variety of benefit contracts and programs for PSEA’s member institutions. The Director, Benefits Coordination also serves as the primary liaison with the Benefits Coordination Committee, the sector member institutions, the benefit consultant, the insurer, and other providers to ensure the strategic coordination of benefits administration across the sector, in accordance with PSEA’s mandate. This role also provides support to the governance structure and oversight to plan sponsorship, purchasing power, standardization, and plan administration.

As the ideal candidate, you are an experienced benefits professional, preferably with experience in a public sector environment. You bring expert knowledge and experience in benefits coordination including disability management plans, and data collection and analysis related to benefits utilization and costs. You are proactive, able to work autonomously, and able to build relationships and garner trust and respect with a senior HR leader in the sector. A postgraduate degree in business management, finance, accounting, human resources or equivalent is preferred.

The salary range for this position is $145,661-$171,366 depending on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
