About the Post-Secondary Employers’ Association (PSEA)
PSEA provides labour relations and human resource services, including collective bargaining, to the province’s public colleges, special purpose teaching universities, and institutes. As a multi-employer association serving a diverse membership of 19 institutions throughout the province, PSEA supports the public post-secondary sector through a broad range of progressive initiatives and services.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Director of Legal Services, the Executive Assistant, Labour Relations & Legal Services provides senior administrative support to PSEA’s labour relations and legal teams and coordinates/leads administrative projects. The Executive Assistant also coordinates and supports PSEA’s learning and development programs, handling registration and logistics. While the role is varied, some of the key areas you will support is as follows:
- Ownership of the organization’s written materials such as meeting minutes, correspondence, bulletins, manuals, training materials, and presentations which includes editing, proofreading, and formatting.
- Communication with stakeholders (both internal and external) on behalf of the leadership team. This could be written as well as verbal.
- Maintenance of legal files and internal database/record management systems.
- Travel arrangements, event planning, virtual and in person meetings, AGM logistics, and other leadership team support.
Candidate Profile
This is a fantastic role for a resourceful and self-motivated individual, who thrives in a collaborative yet autonomous environment. The ideal candidate will have the following:
- An Office Administration diploma from an accredited institution coupled with a minimum of 5 years of progressive administrative experience supporting an executive team.
- Demonstrated experience of document review, editing and proofreading written material.
- Demonstrated experience in organizing and supporting events including event registration and logistics.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and video conferencing software, with the ability to quickly learn, understand and train others on new software and technologies.
- Prior experience with an online content tool or learning management system is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, adaptive mindset, and an ability to work with a wide range of individuals both internally and externally.
The salary range for this position is $63,000-$79,000 depending on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
