On July 29, 2004, Malaspina University College reached a settlement with its support staff, CUPE union, for a new collective agreement for the term of July 1, 2002 to June 30, 2005. The settlement was ratified by Malaspina University College on December 2, 2004, and by the PSEA Board of Directors on December 14, 2004. CUPE ratification is pending.

The settlement is for no changes to compensation and benefits (0,0,0). The terms include language changes to clauses regarding harassment, job posting, and substitution pay. The settlement also incorporated a number of Common Agreement articles and removed others.
