About the Post-Secondary Employers’ Association (PSEA)

PSEA provides labour relations and human resource services, including collective bargaining, to the province’s public colleges, special purpose teaching universities, and institutes. As a multi-employer association serving a diverse membership of 19 institutions throughout the province, PSEA supports the public post-secondary sector through a broad range of progressive initiatives and services.


The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, Strategic Negotiations, the Labour Relations Advisor provides labour relations support and assistance to PSEA’s labour relations team and member institutions. This includes participating in collective bargaining, providing contract administration advice to members, researching sectoral and local issues, preparing collective agreement language, reviewing proposals and recommending approval, participating in labour relations training, and providing general assistance to member institutions.


Candidate Profile

The position will suit a self-motivated candidate with a collaborative mind-set. You will also have:

  •  Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in labour relations and human resources coupled with a post-secondary degree in Business focused on Human Resources, Industrial Relations or similar. A CPHR designation (or candidate) is preferred.
  • A strong client focus and commitment to delivering a consistently high standard of service, as well as a demonstrated ability to exercise diplomacy, sound judgement, and discretion.
  • Strong attention to detail while being able to process and analyze large amounts of information with high accuracy.
  • The desire to further specialize in labour relations in an advising and leadership capacity. This may include a future opportunity to lead collective bargaining from proposal development through to serving as lead spokesperson.
